Inside Golden Pear Market at closing, Mina stands on a ladder by the glass door and reaches toward the OPEN sign while two girls wait outside.
At 8:05, Mina Park stood on the third step of a ladder, reaching for the plug behind the OPEN sign. Golden Pear Market had closed five minutes earlier. Mina's bus came at 8:32.
The taller girl presses both hands to the glass and mouths, “Please. One thing.” The shorter girl films her on a phone.
Two teenage girls knocked on the glass door.
Mina unlocks the door for the two girls. The taller girl thanks her and says, “You’re literally saving us.”
Mina thought it was a food emergency. She unlocked the door and gave them five minutes.
The girls browse Golden Pear Market, holding up packaged food and a melon while Mina watches from several steps away.
They did not appear to need saving. They walked every aisle.
